Who:   Alcoholics, boozehounds, dive bar lovers, Bukowski fans, music lovers, hockey fans.
What:   Dive bars are a dime a dozen in Montreal, but if one sketchy dive stands out, it's Barfly. Named after a film about writer Charles Bukowski's alter ego, the bar is a place Bukowski himself would have found comforting. It's tiny, totally unpretentious, and serves booze without flair or flourish (mostly local beers, and simple mixed drinks). Hockey fans will always find the game playing full blast, and music lovers pack the place for their legendary blues and bluegrass nights.t
Why:   Simple, honest and pure.
