Mikey: Flawless, original, memorable Mediterranean inspired cuisine. This is the kind of place where all the conversation for the entire meal could be about the food. Take a foodie with you.

Mikey: Fantastic place for a good Cali style weekend breakfast. They have great vegi options and the wait is usually pretty reasonable (even on Sundays).

Mikey: Came here for beer on a saturday night. Very chill, minimal but good selection. Beer, wine, sangria. Its like a late-night coffee shop feel as opposed to your typical rambunctious bar vibe.

If you live in the Richmond definitely make your way over to this family owned/run neighborhood spot. I lived up the street and every time my housemates and I walked in we were warmly greeted by name and met with cold beers on the house. The sushi tends toward the more lavish and ingredient packed, though you can of course take the simple route if you like. But I say go for the crazy rolls. They are artfully crafted, delicious and filling. Try the little bomb, double hamachi, the Grinch or the 49er. Everything else on the menu I've tried, I loved. The udon soup is steller as is the sashimi salad. And everyone that visits gets free fried prawns, green tea ice cream and a crisp hundred dollar bill. If you make it there say hi to Sue. We love Sue. (Less)

The food ...(more) Veg food good enough to take your meat loving friends (well... open minded meat lovers). Everything about this place, from the ambience to the food is meticulously thought out to the point that its absolutely comfortable and natural. The food is gourmet for sure. This is not your local taqueria. The menu is fairly small, but each dish is a unique and memorable creation. Food tends toward the fresh and hearty as opposed to the heavy and greasy you often find and sit down mexican. Seating is a sudo-communal style. The tables fit about 6 and they fill them in with groups of 2 and 3. Service has always been friendly and efficient. Wait staff is hip enough to earn their "I work at a local organic gourmet vegetarian mexican food restaurant in the Mission" badge. And a good spot for dates if you don't mind sharing your table... Unfortunately it faded when I walked out the door. But for that brief time I might have been able to convince someone I was a burgeoning architect designing the next ultra hip coffee shop out of reclaimed spaceship parts and recycled plastic from the pacific gyre. There is nothing fancy about this place, and the prices are very reasonable, but the food is off the charts. Seems to be family run. Grandma(?) brings a tray of steaming dumplings out from the kitchen but don't try to order a drink from her, because she doesn't speak a lick of English. This is some genuine stuff. (Less)
